We were thrilled to secure Lot 89 from the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, a quality colt that oozed class.
Purchased for $320,000 the colt is by first-season sire Zousain from stakes-producing mare Sonnenblume. Zousain himself is by none other than Zoustar. A superb racehorse, Zousain was G1 placed on three occasions only to be beaten by those of the quality of The Autumn Sun, and Sunlight at the elite level. He raced against the best of the best during his career and was a two-time winner as a juvenile winning the G2 BRC Champagne Classic.
The progeny of Zousain possess many qualities of their grandsire and it filled us with the utmost confidence to secure this colt. Zoustar was the Champion first-season sire of his year and we believe Zousain follow in his footsteps.
This colt's dam is the sprint winner, Sonnenblume. She has produced three winners including G3 winner, Garibaldi. A juvenile winner himself, Garibaldi was G2 placed in the BRC Sires' Produce Stakes and more recently he secured the G3 victory in the BRC George Moore Hcp to go alongside his Listed GCTC Goldmarket Handicap success.
Sonnenblume is the full sister to the dams of 2YO Inglis Banner winner Arkansaw Kid and G3 sprint winner, Afolk. The colt's grand dam is G1 Coolmore Classic winner, Shindig making Sonnenblume a three-quarter sister to G1 CF Orr Stakes winner, Shinzig, Listed winner Strada, and stakes-placed, Fiammarosa.
He is an absolute powerhouse, he has a phenomenal hindquarter, a strong front end with a wonderful shoulder, and forearm. Using that powerful hindquarter, he walks with a lot of purpose, really swinging through his hip. There is so much to like about this colt who is only going to develop further.
