Legs, class and a panther are three things that spring to mind when we inspected this filly.
A steal at $80,000 we were prepared to pay more to secure the filly, she's from a well performed South Australian family with her dam With a Bit of Dash winning on five occasions. She was unlucky not to be a stakes winner having run second at stakes level on three occasions. Her stakes placing's came in the G3 SAJC Auraria Stakes, Listed Laelia Stakes and Listed Oaklands Plate. She was only to be denied stakes victory by dual G1 winner Kenedna and multiple stakes performer, Morvada. This filly is her second foal, her first foal is 2YO filly by Brave Smash.
Pierata was a sprinting marvel, during his racing career he defeated 39 individual G1 winners of 79 G1 races. This filly represents his first crop and what an impression he has made. He secured his G1 in the All Aged Stakes (1400m) but produced countless elite performances in his sensational career. Stakes placed at 2 behind none other than 14 time G1 winner Melody Belle. At 3 he was second in the time-honoured Randwick Guineas and he reached his peak during his 4 and 5YO seasons defeating Everest winners, Redzel, Classique Legend and Nature Strip.
She was purchased from Golden Grove, a farm who's brand is rather familiar around the stable. Probably leading the pack would be stakes winners, Noname Lane and Cosmic Alert others to adorn the tree are Short Stories, Great Diviner and We Will Remember who between them won ten races.
While we expect this filly may take a bit of patience, we believe she will be well worth it. If she possess the tenacity her father showed on the race track during his long successful career we are in for a ride!
