Impressive South Australian filly Kuroyanagi will press on for a crack at the Blue Diamond Stakes if she bounces through her debut win in good order.
The daughter of Written Tycoon jumped an odds-on $1.35 favourite at Gawler last Saturday and showed enough beating her three rivals over 1100m to warrant targeting the juvenile feature.
"She was good, she did all she could I suppose, they walked early and she did what she had to, she probably wasn't overly impressive but she had a nice day out, which is the main thing," co-trainer Niki O'Shea said.
"She seems to have pulled up ok, she's been at the farm, so she's just been at the beach the last few days, we're just giving her a quiet week and then decide where we go from there.
"It will be three weeks 'til the Prelude if she can get there, we'll leave her alone this week and hopefully she's bouncing next week and that will be the aim."
O'Shea, who trains in partnership with Will Clarken, said if $390,000 yearling purchase Kuroyanagi shows any signs she isn't ready, she will be sent for a break.
"If she doesn't come through the week well, I'd say we'll just pull up stumps and tip her in the paddock," he said.
"She's obviously doing everything well, she's got a big action but it's growing, it's got a lot of developing to do so we're not pushing her, if we need to we are happy to wait.
"We know she's a nice horse so we're not hellbent on her running in these two-year-old races."
