A 25-time Group 1-winning rider, Brad Rawiller will travel to South Australia for Wednesday's Balaklava Cup in the quest for a second victory in the Listed feature.
Rawiller, who is now based in Victoria, will team up with Will Clarken and Niki O'Shea's veteran gelding Ironclad, a decade after winning the race aboard Bagman for Sam Kavanagh in 2012.
"I rode in the Balaklava Cup for Sam Kavanagh a long time ago now," Rawiller said.
"I rode Ironclad in Perth when he went over a while back, I got asked if I was able to come and ride him in the (Balaklava) Cup and I said, 'Yep, sure'."
The best result of those rides in Perth was finishing runner-up behind Amelia's Jewel in last year's G1 Northerly Stakes (1800m) at Ascot when a $61 outsider.
"I'm keen to ride him, I know this time in his form probably doesn't look that great, but his best form makes him a very good chance," Rawiller said.
"Obviously the barrier draw is perfect having him drawn barrier three. I don't think 60 kilos is any concern for him."
Rawiller hopes a Listed winner can kick-start his spring after a frustrating few weeks.
"I've come back to ride every day and I'm trying to get some momentum now," he said.
"A month or two ago I got suspended when I was really going well and then I got sick and it's just been really tough since then.
"I'm back to work and trying to get things going again, if my weight is a bit lighter that will help and obviously the weather is starting to get a bit better now so hopefully it turns around."
