A talented pair of Will Clarken-trained gallopers will resume on Caulfield Cup Day after nearly five months on the sidelines.
Beau Rossa and Ironclad both impressed during respective trials at Morphettville after contesting the Group 1 Goodwood Handicap (1200m) in May.
In a heat that also featured Behemoth, the Andrew Clarken-trained I Am Bene and talented Michael Hickmott gelding Taunting, Beau Rossa settled towards the rear and finished strongly under no riding.
"I'll kick him off over 1000m at Caulfield and ride him quite cold from the gate, I got a bit frustrated with his racing pattern towards the end of last prep when he wanted to just overdo things, so we need to re correct that," Will Clarken said.
A seven-year-old son of Dubawi, Ironclad will also feature first-up at Caulfield over 1400m, after cruising to the line in a 1000-metre trial.
"Ironclad is very effective fresh, he's tracking up really well, 1400m - looks like a lovely race for him," Clarken said.
"They both needed a good spell; they'll be coming back hopefully as rejuvenated horses."
