Trainer Will Clarken has high hopes for Extremely Lucky who is contesting the Moir on Friday night with dreams of a Coolmore or Everest on the horizon.
By Clarken’s own admission, Extremely Lucky is one of the most bizarre and eccentric horses that he’s trained, but as soon as those barriers open he can become a completely different horse and only knows one way, fast and forwards.
An extremely gifted horse with an electric turn of foot, his athletic capabilities can more than carry him into the race but there will be an element of luck in his runs, with barrier draw and jockey positioning key with his desire to get back in the run and look to go bang down the outside.
If he can live up to this gifted ability and apply himself through the Spring, Clarken might just have a rocket on his hands.
